This cave was discovered by a 52-member international speleological expedition \u201eDurmitor 1985\u201c. Members of this expedition descended into the cave to a depth of 897.5m, which revealed the deepest cave in the Balkans \u2013 Vjetrena jama. Vjetrena Brda is also specific in that the edelweiss flower grows there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hiking trails and approaches:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pass Sedlo \u2013 Wavy do \u2013 Suvi Tavani \u2013 Vjetrena Brda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LENGTH OF THE TOUR: Ascent: 1.15h; Descent: 1h; Total: 2.15h;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HEIGHT DIFFERENCE: 324m;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MARKING: The section from Sedlo to Suvi Tavani is marked, the remaining short section to the top is unmarked, although the top can be reached in just 10 minutes of gentle ascent on clear, grassy and safe terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dobri do \u2013 Ravne police \u2013 pass on Vjetreni Brdi \u2013 Surutka \u2013 Suvi tavani \u2013 Vjetreni Brdi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LENGTH OF THE TOUR: Upson: 1.30h; Descent: 1.15am; Total: 2.45h;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HEIGHT DIFFERENCE: 381m;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MARKING: The section Dobri do \u2013 Previja, as well as Surutka \u2013 Vjetrena brda are not marked. There are markings in Surutka towards Sedlo, Elen vir and Bobotov kuk, as well as towards \u0160krka via the Samar pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>View from Vjetrene Brda: <\/strong>Vjetrena Brda, with its gentle and rounded peaks, is a place for a day-long vacation and enjoyment of the view of Bobotov Kuk, nearby Zupci, the southern cliffs of Bandijerna, Milo\u0161ev Tok and \u0160ljemen. The view leaves visitors breathless, especially in the evening, when the sun illuminates the rocks of these peaks with its orange-reddish color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Climbing season:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most suitable period for climbing is from May to October.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Protection and security: <\/strong>Caution is advised when crossing the exposed section in Uvita Greda, as well as checking the weather forecast,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">bring enough water and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">use of mountaineering equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Importance and recommendations for visitors: <\/strong>Although less frequently visited by mountaineers, due to the fact that the peaks of Vjetreni Brda are somewhat inconspicuous, Vjetreni Brda connects the valleys of Dobri dol and Surutka, and the mountain itself towers over several valleys that surround it on all sides.
