Planinica Peak Loop – Panoramic views of central Durmitor

The Peak Loop is a long but exceptionally beautiful and moderately demanding hiking route in Durmitor National Park, offering some of the most stunning panoramic views in the massif. The route begins in Žabljak and leads through wooded terrain to the Zminje Lake, marking the start of the ascent into higher mountain regions.

From the open slopes and the summit of Planinica itself, hikers are rewarded with spectacular views towards Bobotov Kuk, Bezimeni Vrh and Djevaica. The trail also offers wonderful views of the Škrčka Lakes and the striking Painted Belts, whose colourful bands of rock create one of Durmitor's most memorable landscapes.

On the return leg, the trail descends towards Jablan Lake and continues back towards Žabljak.
