Bandijerna – The Flag Above Three Valleys

„"Flag above three valleys", the name of this peak comes from the Italian word (bandiera), meaning flag, and it was not given that name by chance. Bandijerna is a peak in the shape of a pointed cone with steep slopes that rises above three valleys - Ledeni do, Surutka and Milječno do.

Bandijerna is one of Durmitor's highest and most distinctive peaks. Its name is associated with the Italian word bandiera, meaning “flag”, a fitting name for a sharp, cone-shaped summit rising dramatically above three mountain valleys – Ledeni do, Surutka and Mliječni do.

With its distinctive shape and central position, Bandijerna is also an exceptional viewpoint over the central and southern parts of Durmitor. From the summit, an extraordinary panorama opens across some of the massif's highest peaks, deep valleys and rugged mountain landscapes.
