Why Visit Međed?

Few places capture the character of Durmitor as perfectly as Međed rising above Crno jezero.

Its central location provides outstanding views of Durmitor's peaks, glacial valleys, forests, and lakes, making the Međed traverse one of the massif's most impressive high-mountain experiences.

According to local tradition, the name Međed – the traditional local word for bear – is associated with rock formations on its northern side that resemble bears above Crno jezero.
