Zeleni vir
Zeleni Vir is a mountain lake located in Mlječni Dolovi, at an altitude of 1,820 metres. This clear lake, known for its distinctive green colour, is fed by snow, rain and a small spring, making it an important natural reservoir in the central part of Durmitor.
It is located about one kilometre from Durmitor’s highest peak, Bobotov Kuk, at an altitude of 2,028 metres. Zeleni Vir is 50 metres long, 40 metres wide and up to 2 metres deep. This location is an important resting point for hikers on the demanding trail that leads from Black Lake via Stari Katun Lokvice, Ledena Pećina and Sedlo to Zeleni Vir and the summit of Bobotov Kuk.
