Durmitor is one of Montenegro's most impressive mountain massifs, known for its dramatic peaks, rugged ridges, deep valleys and glacial lakes.
Within a relatively compact area, 48 peaks rise above 2,000 metres, with Bobotov Kuk (2,523 m) as the highest. Eighteen peaks exceed 2,300 m, while seven rise above 2,400 m.
Numerous marked trails lead towards the peaks and viewpoints, offering spectacular views across Durmitor, Jezerska Površ and the Tara, Sušica and Piva canyons.
The remarkable concentration and diversity of high peaks make Durmitor one of the most attractive hiking and mountaineering destinations in this part of Europe.
Šljeme or "Durmitor's Heavenly Plateau" is a colossal mountain in the Durmitor massif and its third highest peak. Šljeme represents the true Durmitor Heavenly Plateau, a grandiose limestone plateau at about 2400 m above sea level, 2 kilometers long, whose highest peak reaches 2455 m. The Šljeme massif is connected to the Milošev Tok peak at 2426 m, below which there is a small lake Miloševa Lokva.
Stožina (1,908 m) may not be one of Durmitor's highest peaks, but its distinctive shape and remarkable location make it one of the mountain's most recognisable landmarks.
Milošev Tok (2,426 m) belongs to the group of Durmitor's highest peaks and is considered its sixth-highest summit.
„"Flag above three valleys", the name of this peak comes from the Italian word (bandiera), meaning flag, and it was not given that name by chance. Bandijerna is a peak in the shape of a pointed cone with steep slopes that rises above three valleys - Ledeni do, Surutka and Milječno do.
Zupci is one of the more impressive peaks of Durmitor. It is a ridge about 1100 m long, rising south of the highest part of the Durmitor massif.

The rounded rocky giant - Lojanik is characterized by imposing flat and steep rock slabs, while the rest of the area is covered with dense pine growth.
The harshest peak of Durmitor – the Bolja boulder, with its Boljske Grede, is one of the harshest and most difficult peaks in the Durmitor massif.
Looking at this peak towering over the undulating green Dobri do valley, one immediately gets the impression that Sedlena Greda is a unique natural wonder in the world.
