Durmitor is the most beautiful Montenegrin mountain, where tectonic action and erosion, river and glacier, created a mountain world of fantastic shapes, which a good hiker is able to walk around in one day. Sharp peaks and ridges make it an ideal place for hiking in winter and summer.
The circular route around its edge is only 85 km long. In such a relatively small area, the Durmitor massif has as many as 48 peaks above 2000m, of which 40 are over 2100m, 27 over 2200m, 18 over 2300m, 7 over 2400m and only one over 2500m (Bobotov Kuk); In the same area there are 17 lakes above 1400m, of which 11 are over 1500m, 9 over 1600m, 4 over 1700m, two over 2000m (Zeleni vir and Miloševa lokva), and the deepest is Crno jezero (49 m). Durmitor 27 marked and 12 unmarked trails. Marked trails pass through all parts of Durmitor and reveal all the beauties of this National Park. The uniqueness of Durmitor lies in the beauty of its lush mountain landscapes, in conquering breathtaking heights from whose peaks there are fantastic views of the distant horizons of the Piva and Tara canyons, and the highest mountains of Albania, Serbia and Bosnia (Prokletije, Kopaonik and Zelengora).
In an area about 30km long and half as wide, there are more than 120 peaks of various shapes. More than half of them exceed 2000 meters above sea level. Below this mountain range lies a large plateau, with beautiful natural lakes and coniferous forests, and even lower are the unreal canyons of the Tara, Sušica, Komarnica, Piva rivers...

Šljeme or "Durmitor's Heavenly Plateau" is a colossal mountain in the Durmitor massif and its third highest peak. Šljeme represents the true Durmitor Heavenly Plateau, a grandiose limestone plateau at about 2400 m above sea level, 2 kilometers long, whose highest peak reaches 2455 m. The Šljeme massif is connected to the Milošev Tok peak at 2426 m, below which there is a small lake Miloševa Lokva.
Stožina has the privilege of being reflected in its beauty in the surrounding 4 lakes. Numerous legends are associated with him, he is one of the guardians of many secrets, and he especially enjoys the favor of shepherds.
Milošev Tok 2426m – belongs to the group of the highest peaks of Durmitor, more precisely, it is its sixth highest peak.
„"Flag above three valleys", the name of this peak comes from the Italian word (bandiera), meaning flag, and it was not given that name by chance. Bandijerna is a peak in the shape of a pointed cone with steep slopes that rises above three valleys - Ledeni do, Surutka and Milječno do.
Zupci is one of the more impressive peaks of Durmitor. It is a ridge about 1100 m long, rising south of the highest part of the Durmitor massif.
The Queen of Durmitor – in the highest part of Durmitor, in the part of the massif known as Soa Nebeska, is the Lady of Durmitor – the peak of Đevojka.

The peak with the deepest pit in the Balkans - on the southern side of the Durmitor massif, north above the Žabljak-Trsa road, are Vjetrena Brda,
North above the Sedlo pass, which connects the Poščenska Valley and Dobri Do via the asphalted Žabljak-Trsa road, is Uvita Greda, the closest peak to Sedlo, along with Sedlena Greda.
