Due to its central position in the Durmitor massif, the peaks of Međed represent fantastic viewpoints from which it is possible to get to know and feel the grandeur of the Durmitor massif in the best way, as well as the depth of the beautiful valleys that run through it. From Međed, a beautiful view awaits you that compensates for the effort during the climb. Below, the emerald color of the Black Lake, surrounded by a dense coniferous forest, shimmers, and behind it you can see the Barno Lake, the Lake Surface and the edges of the Tara Canyon, behind which rises the Ljubišnja Mountain.

View from Međed: This beautiful peak, reflected in the Black Lake, forms one of the most recognizable panoramas of Durmitor and Montenegro. Međed dominates the Lokvica Valley from the west and the Velika Kalica Valley from the east. From the pass and both peaks of Međed, a beautiful view opens up of the Black Lake surrounded by dense coniferous forest, behind it you can see Brano, the Lake Surface and the edges of the Tara Canyon, behind which rises Mount Ljubišnja. To the left, the view descends towards the Velika Kalica Valley and the northern cliffs of Savin Kuk, and to the right the Lokvica Valley, above which rise Čvorov Bogaz, Mini Bogaz, Bezimeni Vrh and Rbatina.
Season for climbing
The most suitable period for climbing is from May to October.
Protection and security:
Great caution and increased attention are required both during the ascent and descent, especially when crossing ridge passes. It is recommended to go on this tour only on days with stable weather conditions and good visibility, with dry terrain in the mountains.

Međed got its name from the fact that the two rocks on its northern side, one larger and one smaller, which are located above the Black Lake, look like bears frolicking.
